Claire Anderson is a graduate of the Sheridan College Crafts and Design Glass Program where she discovered her passion for sculpture and design. While maintaining an interest in, and continuing to conceptually draw upon, as wide a range of media as possible, focusing on working with glass has offered her the versatility to create both sculptural and functional works while allowing for the goal of developing the utmost quality and integrity within each piece created.
Claire spent a couple of years travelling and working in artistic glassblowing studios making work for other artists. From there, built and operated her own in Niagara Falls, Ontario. She designed and created a line of high end bar ware and home decor that distributed across Canada and the United States. While operating this studio, she still managed to take the time to work on her steadily growing body of artwork.
Now, Claire has left the shop she helped to create to pursue her artwork with all of her attention. She is spending time travelling, collaborating and working at various artist residencies around the world to make the work that has always been the most meaningful to her.
This is a VERY difficult decision so I'll choose my two current favourites: The Satanic Verses by Salmon Rushdie and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
Coffees per day and from where
At least three - espresso before I leave the house and a couple of batches of drip coffee once I get to my shop
Glass! Also metal and concrete but glass is so challenging and fascinating
